Great thanks to our hardworking Parish Council who once again treated the senior members of Barrow upon Trent to a lovely luncheon, where the atmosphere was filled with warmth and camaraderie. The afternoon was launched by our Parish Council chairman Toni Kent-Chapman, who took the time to express heartfelt gratitude to parishioners for their voluntary contributions. She shared inspiring anecdotes about some of the goals achieved by the Council this year, all which foster community spirit. The gathering reinforced the bonds within our community, making it a truly memorable event for everyone involved.
Very shortly after Toni’s introduction, the luncheon got underway, creating an air of excitement among the guests as they settled into their seats. Michelle and her team soon had everyone fed and watered, moving efficiently between tables, ensuring that no one was left wanting. Claire clearly had everything under expert control in the kitchen, producing a variety of delicious pies, mash and those amazing chips for all in what seemed like no time at all, the mouthwatering aroma wafting through the venue and tantalising every palate. Great thanks to them and their teams: Jean, Sophie, Lilly, and Lottie, whose hard work and commitment made the event a delightful experience for everyone present. Their collaborative spirit shone through, adding a warm sense of community to the gathering.
What better way to spend an afternoon than with good friends, fine food, a little wine, and conversation that flows as easily as the drinks? The laughter shared and the stories exchanged create a sense of warmth and belonging, turning an ordinary day into something extraordinary. Well done all, with special thanks to the Parish Council for their unwavering support and the diligent staff of The Brookfield, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make possible a day to remember, filled with joy and camaraderie that will linger in our hearts for years to come.
